Dear Unlcle Ezra, Is it true that the Adams family house is in Ithaca? If so, where?
TV Fan
Dear TV Fan, It seems that there's a fine local folklore here claiming that the Sprague
House, on 412 S Albany, is the model for the houses on either the Adams Family
or Munsters series, or both. Is this the house you're referring to? I called
the UCLA Theatre Arts library, but they couldn't verify the location(s) of
those houses. UCLA suggested contacting Universal-MCA (which distributed the
Munsters) at their NYC office ((212) 759-7500) or California office
((818) 777-2564). Filmways distributed The Adams family, but no phone number
was given for them. I think I'll leave the rest is up to you. But let me
know what you find out...you've gotten me curious! Uncle Ezra - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Question 2 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Dear Uncle Ezra, Just out of curiosity, how many people were killed on Route 13
between Ithaca and Cortland last year? It seems like quite a few.
If so, why doesn't somebody do something about it?
???
Dear ???, You are absolutely right, there are far too many fatal accidents on that
stretch of highway. I called the Sheriff's Office at 272-2444 and asked for
a count. They do have the information, but their books are arranged by date
and not location; to determine how many fatalities and/or accidents occurred
along Rte 13 from Cortland to Ithaca would require going through their accident
log page by page. You are welcome to do it; the Sheriff's department is on
Court Street. Most important, if you are ever driving on that stretch of road,
BE CAREFUL. The life you save could be your own. Uncle Ezra |
